North Midlands Under-19s will take a commanding 62-10 lead into the second leg of their defence of the Sable's Head Trophy against Warwickshire at Broadstreet RFC near Coventry on October 21 (7.30pm). North Midlands scored ten tries in their first leg victory at Droitwich two weeks ago and should retain the historic trophy, a mounted antelope's skull, which is decided by the aggregate scores over the two games.
North Midlands have reshuffled their squad for the second leg to give game time to squad members and a chance for them to press their claims for inclusion in the North Midlands Under-20 side for the National Under-20 Championship which gets underway after Christmas.
The North Midlands' starting XV includes winger Mike Gillick who has already played senior rugby for Moseley in The Championship this season.
